Lumbermen’s Employee
Spotlight:
Tiffany Gurnsey Rides in to Save
the Day!!!
As we all know, bad things sometimes happen to good
people. So, if you are on of those unfortunate
needing individuals who find yourself claim,
don’t worry Tifany Gurnsey is there to help
you. As one of Lumbermen’s newest team
members, Tiffany is responsible for coordinating the
claims process between the customer and the insurance
company.
Although Tiffany recently returned to Central Oregon
after many years, she followed a circuitous route,
which included attending the University of Montana to
major in journalism, Mt. Hood Community College where
she focused on Graphic Design, and finally to finish at
the university of Concordia where she earned he BS in
Business & Management. She did not just happen
to “end up” in insurance. Tiffany had
worked in her dad’s insurance agency (in
Portland) since high school and got a taste of the
insurance industry of the through that. It was an
easy fit for her to take her knowledge and experience
gained, combined it with her Business Management degree
to join the Lumbermen’s team of
professionals.
It was even a better fit when she was assigned the role
of Claims Coordinator. She sees the best part of
her job as making something happen and helping people.
Not just a number that people ca call, Tiffany
keeps tabs on a claim and ensures a faster turn around
and payment. Being in the position has prompted
her to want to take law classes to give her a better
understanding of Oregon Insurance Law and to enable her
to better represent her clients with a more in-depth
understanding of the legal correspondence that
accompanies the job.
During the end of the 90’s Tiffany worked in the
High Tech industry where she provided Business Analysis
and Account Management for such major companies as
Intel, and Hewlett Packard. However, after 9/11
when the high tech industry went into a tailspin and
suffered significant cutbacks, Tiffany used the
opportunity to come home to Central Oregon, where she
could get back to her beloved outdoors and
horses. When she’s not working, Tiffany
actually trains horses at her 20 acre home in
Prinville. You can also count on seeing her as a
member of the “Desert Diamonds” Drill team
as they compete in local, state and regional
competitions.
